Jon: Greetings friend. It's a long story, but I started out as a paratroop infantryman, then to paratroop anti-tank, then to leg arctic infantry, then as an PSG/E7 made transition to MP Corps, by being permitted transfer to an MP battlefield circulation control company as a platoon sergeant, and then proceeding through the NCOES system. I actually ended up as chief instructor for NCOES schools detachment. My actual basic was Leonard Wood and original AIT was Polk. I am probably/more than likely considered a rarity, but my route began as a grunt. My MOS: 11B/H/4PP4C2>95B5M. (And also along the line I picked up 63B.) I know, it is weird, but its true. Another oddity about me is that I am also ADHD which might explain..........Funny to is that I have served on duty with both Marines and Gator Navy and have some affection (not unnatural) for both. Anyway, my younger brother Dave is a Deputy with Maricopa County (Medal Valor, ex-SWAT) in Arizona and I just recently retired from the Prison System here in Iowa as a Captain (CSII) and CERT Cmdr. If you are confused after my explanation, I assure you, no more than I. Oh, one other thing, my last stint of duty was as a Signal Unit Senior Evaluator. I know, weird! Takes all kinds, I guess. Ride safe, Rich
Haver a good friend in Woodbridge VA, we served together in Vietnam where we were both YOUNG E5's in the 219 MI DET
I might get to ride this Saturday with temps in the upper 60's last weekend we had a storm and got 6 inches of rain, looks like northern MN around here except no fish!
Nice bike Jon, I bought a new bike to in Jan 09, a 2009 Harley Ultra. It has 700 miles on it now due to crappy weather we are having in Iowa I haven't had the chance to ride it much.
Like you "plate on the bike". I have a personal plate ona one car ( bronze star plate that reads "2 N JOY" my other car plate is a bronze star plate read " NOWAR" meaning now army reserve. . I haven't bought a plate for the bike yet but am thinking about it. the holder for my bike plate is a Vietnam palte with my unit and years served there.
I'm switching post and will be with Post 232 in Polk City, IA.

I'm really hoping to do some riding when I return. The PAK border....now that is a fun place. We have most of our TICs there. I look forward to a few fall rides when I return. You stay safe also my friend.
never got to where you were at as we went east and south toward the PAK border. I was with the USACE helping to buid roads. You'll get back in time to maybe do a couple of fall rides. Stay safe my friend and keep in touch!
Jon, thank you for your service/ I got back from afghanistan in November, traded my 05 Ultra off and got an 08 Ultra. Got 1200 miles on it now.
Where abouts are you in Afghanistan? I was at Camp Clark ( Khost Province).
Be safe and kiss some ass over there!
